LAKE NAIVASHA a freshwater lake
that varies greatly according to rainfall. Home to
variety of bird species including the lesser and Greater
Flamingoes, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green
Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed
Pelicans etc, thus making Naivasha as a world class
birding destination. Animals that can easily be spotted
in or around the waters of Lake Naivasha include giraffes,
buffalo and hippos with Colobus monkeys calling from
the treetops.
LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Lake Nakuru - one of the gems in the necklace of the
Rift Valley Lakes often referred as the Pink Lake
for its great masses of pink flamingos. Opportunity
to see millions of flamingos besides a massive catalog
of other terrestrial birds. The world renowned ornithologist
Roger Tory Peterson defined it as "the greatest
bird spectacle on earth”. Lake Nakuru National
Park is a Rhino Sanctuary and harbors other wild-game
like the Lion, Waterbucks, Buffalo, Warthog, Hippo
etc, and is one of the few places where you can see
Rothschild's giraffes. The Park has more than 56 species
of mammals and the natural, scenic beauty of Lion
Hill, Baboon Cliffs as well as numerous waterfalls
throughout.

DAY 01: NAIROBI
Day spent in best birding locations in around the
bird rich city. Spot birds such as Hartlaub's Turaco,
Hadada Ibis, Black Kite, Red-eyed Dove, Speckled Mousebird,
Fiscal Shrike, White-eyed Slaty Flycatcher, Bronzy
Sunbird and Amethyst Sunbird.

DAY
02: LAKE NAIVASHA
After breakfast drive North West across the escarpment
as you descend into the Rift Valley. Stop at the view
point to have spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley.
In the afternoon take a walk along the shores of papyrus
fringed Lake Naivasha watching masses of water birds
including Little Grebes, African Spoonbills and Goliath
Herons.

DAY 03: LAKE NAIVASHA
Lake Naivasha's waters attract a great variety of
herons, waders, storks, pelicans, terns and gulls
while well preserved native vegetation on shore supports
a great diversity of warblers, weavers, barbets, woodpeckers,
canaries, finches and birds of prey. African Fish
Eagle, Black Herons, Grey-capped Warblers, Spectacled
Weavers, and Black-lored Babblers are often among
the highlights. .

DAY 04: LAKE NAKURU
After breakfast, depart for Nakuru, world known for
its masses of Lesser Flamingos and Pelicans with over
450 species of birds with excellent game viewing.
Birds include Yellow-billed Stork, African Spoonbill,
Cape Teal, Rufous-necked Wryneck, Ground Hornbill,
Bearded Woodpecker, Black Crowned Tchagra and Arrow-marked
Babler.

DAY
05: LAKE NAKURU
Full day spent at Lake Nakuru National Park. Exploring
this wonderful birders paradise. While on game drive,
you will spot White and Black Rhino, Leopard, Colobus
Monkeys as well as the Rothschild's Giraffe.

DAY
06: LAKE BARINGO
Morning after breakfast, depart for Lake Baringo, another
place full of bird life which include Verreaux's Eagle,
Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Hemprich's Hornbill etc. In
the evening, enjoy a boat ride and a look for some of
the aquatic species at Lake Baringo. |

DAY 07 DEPARTURE
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi with spectacular
views of the Great Rift Valley en route. Arrive Nairobi
in time for lunch at a restaurant before your transfer
to the airport for onward flight.
