ITINERARY

|
DAY 01: ARRIVE PARO, BHUTAN
Upon Arrival at Paro, you will be met by Earth Tours
& Travel representative. Enjoy the breathtaking
views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan
peaks like the sacred Mt. Jhumolhari & Jichu Drake
in Bhutan en route. You will be transferred to the hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Paro.

DAY
02: DAY EXCURSION TO TAKTSANG MONASTRY
Morning, hike to the famous Taktsang the Tiger's Nest
- the magical monastery clinging vertically on granite
cliff 3000 meters above the valley floor. It is believed
that Guru Padmasambhava flew here on the back of a Tigress
hence the name to meditate. The tigress was actually
his favorite consort, Yeshey Tsogyal, whom he transformed
into a flying tigress for the purpose of his journey.
Riding horses can be arranged to go up. Afternoon, visit
the 7th century Kiychu monastery, the National Museum
and Paro Dzong. Overnight at Paro. |

DAY
03: JELEDZONG
The trek trail is rather gradual. The Paro Valley can
be seen with the snow-capped mountains on a clear weather.
Overnight At Jeledzong.

DAY
04: JANGCHULAKHA
The trek begins with gradual ascent. The trail takes
you through a thick alpine forest and rhododendrons
trees. You may spot Yaks around the campsite. Overnight
at Jangchulakha.

DAY
05: JIMILANGTSO
The trail follows the ridge. On a clear day the views
of the mountains and the valley are beautiful. Our camp
is close to Lake Jimilangtso. These lakes are known
for their giant sized trout. Overnight At Jimilangtso.

DAY
06: SIMKOTA
Trek through dwarf Rhododendron trees passing Lake Janetso.
You may come across some Yak Herders camp and may be
interesting to learn their way of life. Overnight
At Simkota.

DAY
07: PHAJODING
Trek begins with a gradual climb. Weather permitting
the views of Mt. Gangkar Punsum - the highest in Bhutan
- and other Himalayan Mountains are magnificent from
this point. Descend slowly reaching Phajoding cafeteria.

DAY
08: THIMPHU
This 3 hour trek takes you through Blue Pine forest.
Trekking leisurely to reach Thimpu just in time. Overnight
at Thimpu. |

DAY
09: THIMPHU - acclimatization day
Day spent at leisure to acclimatize. Morning, visit
the School of Traditional Arts & Crafts (National
Institute of Zorig Chusum) where you can see students
undergo training in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts
& crafts followed by a visit to the Takin Preserve
to see the rare National animal of Bhutan. A further
drive towards the BBS Tower site will provide a bird’s
eye view of the capital city. In the afternoon, take
a mountain bike ride to Tango and Cherry meditation
centers for more nature and cultural sightseeing. Overnight
at Thimpu. |

DAY
10: HIMPHU - GANGTEY/PHOBJIKHA
Early morning after breakfast, drive leisurely to Gangtey
and Phobjikha valley - the first eco-tourism destination
of Bhutan. The valley falls under the Black Mountain
Natural Park. Phobjikha valley is the winter home to
rare and endangered black necked cranes (Grus nigricllis)
which migrate in large folks to Bhutan from Tibet &
Sikang, Yunnan and Tonkin in eastern China by late November.

DAY
11: BUMTHANG
We begin the journey to Central Bhutan. The 4 hour drive
to Trongsa takes you across Pelela Pass (3300 m.) with
the famous Chendiji Chorten is situated at the base
of the hills. Lunch at Trongsa and visit Trongsa Dzong
and the Fort Museum (Ta Dzong) afterwards. Leisure drive
to Bumthang for Overnight.

DAY
12: BUMTHANG – acclimatization day
Full day sightseeing in and around this holy valley.
Overnight Bumthang.

DAY
13: WANGDI
Start your journey back towards Western Bhutan with
sightseeing stops en-route. Overnight at Wangdi |

|
|
DAY
14: PARO
Half day white water rafting in the morning. Afternoon,
visit Punakha Dzong and do some local sightseeing. Late
afternoon, transfer to Paro. Overnight at Paro
|
|
|
|
|
|
DAY
15: FINAL DEPARTURE
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Paro Airport
for your departure flight for onward journey back home |
